You should always, always thank the job interviewer. You may think that the interview did not go as well as it could but that does not matter and should not stop you thanking them. You never really know what is going on in an interviewer’s mind. If your performance is hanging in the balance, a simple courtesy could sway the interview in your favor.
1. Companies and Interviewers take recruiting very seriously and they spend many dollars and hours to make the correct decisions for their companies.
2. You should always thank an interviewer for taking time out to discuss the opportunity with you. Thank them at the end of the interview and take their card.
3.Sometimes, it is good to send a follow up email to thank them again. Also, it is a good opportunity to clarify or indeed ask them further questions regarding the role.

I was looking “how to job interview” as I was completely nervous before my first interview last week. Your book helped me alot – they asked many of the questions – I have been called back to the next stage of the process!
Thanks

Was an interesting article, I have been looking for work for awhile and am always in 2 minds as to thank the interviewer or not. It sometimes seems to smack of desperation but I suppose if everyone else is doing it then it is probably best to drop them an email after the fact.
I have always re-read your book the night before an interview so thanks so much, it has really helped my confidence,
Cind

Candidates who send a follow-up letter are really setting themselves apart. So few do it and the ones who do impress me immediately because theyre showing me that theyve learned something about the company from the interview and theres something were doing here that excites them. According to Jackie Osborn owner of Boulder-based Bolder Staffing a follow-up letter is always a good idea regardless of the company or position. I dont know that theres any interview thats ever been done where a follow-up letter isnt appreciated she said.
